An underdog story. . .

An underdog story filled with hope and pride, the documentary film This is Titletown showcases the city of Youngstown and the FIVE World Boxing Champions it has produced: Ray Mancini, Harry Arroyo, Jeff Lampkin, Greg Richardson, and Kelly Pavlik. A spotlight on the fighters’ journeys from amateurs to world champions -and beyond- the documentary will delve into the minds of these men , and how they came to represent their city and country through the sport of boxing. It will chronicle the great fights of each champion as well as those who helped to influence their careers.

This is Titletown is also a journey of the city of Youngstown itself. The city, like its fighters, persevered through tough times to overcome the odds. This working class community rallied behind their boxing heroes - proving Youngstown's ability to thrive through adversity, regardless of economic hardship. This blue-collar mentality, combined with the peoples' love of boxing, helped to support each boxer as he climbed his way to the top, representing Youngstown's rise as well. The turn from each fighter's small town days, to respective champion of the world, proved that Youngstown will never be down for the count. Its citizens will never back down and will always take pride in their city and their champions. From the retired greats to the up and coming champions, Youngstown continues to support its working class heroes.
